Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026
This policy explains what information Frens collects when you use the website at frens.gg and the Frens app for Android (together, "Frens", "we", "us"), why we collect it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. Frens is a social trading app for crypto coins: you can trade, launch coins, post and follow other traders.
1. Information we collect
Account and sign-in
- You sign in with email (a one-time code), Google, X (Twitter) or a crypto wallet. Sign-in is provided by our authentication partner Privy, which receives your email address, or your Google or X account's basic profile (name, username, profile picture, account ID), or your wallet address.
- When you sign up, Privy creates self-custodial embedded wallets for you (Solana and EVM networks). We store your wallet addresses. Private keys are secured by Privy; Frens never sees or stores your private keys or seed phrases.
- If you sign in with X, we store your X username and whether your X account is linked, and show it on your profile.
Profile and content you create
- Your username (handle), display name, bio, the location and link you choose to add, and the profile and cover photos you upload.
- Posts, replies, likes, polls, images you attach, rooms you create or join, people you follow, your watchlist, votes and reports you send.
Trading and wallet activity
- Trades you make through Frens (coin, amount, price, network and transaction ID), coins you launch, fees, rewards and payouts. Blockchain transactions are public by design: anyone can see them on the blockchain.
- Wallet balances and holdings are read from public blockchains to show your portfolio.
Device, network and usage information
- Your IP address, and the approximate location (country, region and city) and network provider that our hosting provider derives from it. We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
- Basic activity: when you were last active and which days you used Frens.
- Data stored in your browser or app storage: your sign-in session, your settings (such as theme, sound, slippage and quick-buy amounts, which are also saved to your account), and a random referral ID used to count invites.
- Error information when something goes wrong, used only to fix bugs.
Optional X tasks and referrals
- If you take part in reward tasks on X (like, repost, reply), we store your X account ID, username and the post IDs needed to verify the task and pay the reward.
- If you invite people or were invited, we record which account referred whom.
- If you connect Frens Bot on Telegram, we store your Telegram chat ID and username, your bot settings (slippage, daily recap, alerts) and the messages needed to run your requests. Disconnect any time with /unlink in the bot.
The Frens Android app requests no device permissions: it does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, call logs, SMS or precise location. Photos are only uploaded when you choose a file yourself.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and wallets, and to sign you in.
- To carry out the trades, launches, transfers and payouts you request.
- To show your profile, posts and trading activity to other people, as part of the social features.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse: for example, one sign-up bonus per person, limits on rewards, and blocking automated accounts.
- To moderate content: reports are reviewed by our team, who can remove posts and suspend accounts that break our Terms.
- To understand how Frens is used in aggregate (for example, daily active users) and to fix problems.
- To answer you when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run Frens, with service providers that process it on our behalf:
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Privy | Sign-in and embedded wallets | Email or social account details, wallet addresses |
| Supabase | Database and file storage | Account, profile, content and activity data |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, security and network | IP address and request data |
| Market data, trading and blockchain infrastructure (such as Codex, Jupiter, 0x, Meteora, blockchain RPC nodes) | Prices, charts, swap routing and sending transactions | Wallet and coin addresses, trade amounts. Not your name or email |
| X data services (X, twitterapi.io) | Verifying optional X tasks | Your X username or ID and post IDs |
Public information. Your profile, posts, replies, follows, leaderboard results and the trades you choose to share are visible to other users and visitors. Transactions on public blockchains can be seen by anyone and cannot be changed or deleted by Frens.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply).
4. How long we keep information
- We keep your account information while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts, replies, likes, follows, watchlist, rooms, notifications, settings, uploaded photos and sign-in network records right away. Your sign-in account and wallet at Privy stay (so your funds stay yours); email us to have them deleted as well. Copies in backups are deleted within 30 days.
- We keep a limited set of records for longer where needed for security, fraud prevention, accounting or legal reasons: reward and payout records (including the X username used for a reward and a one-way hash of the IP address), and trade records with the link to your account removed.
- Information on public blockchains (your transactions, and coins you launched with their name and logo) stays there permanently.
5. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile at any time (your profile picture, then My profile, then Edit profile).
- Delete your own posts from the ⋯ menu on the post.
- Block accounts and report posts from the ⋯ menu.
- Export your wallet's private key from the wallet menu, so you always keep control of your funds.
- Delete your account in the app (your profile picture, then Security, then Delete account) or follow the steps at frens.gg/delete-account.
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, email reply@frens.gg. We will respond within the time required by law. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you (running your account and trades), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving Frens) and legal obligations.
6. Security
All connections to Frens are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to personal data is limited to the systems and team members that need it, and sensitive data such as IP addresses is only visible to administrators. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in methods safe and never share your private key.
7. Children
Frens is only for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
